About this eBook

These days the terms good and God seem synonymous. We believe what’s generally accepted as good must be in line with God’s will. Generosity, humility, justice—good. Selfishness, arrogance, cruelty—evil. The distinction seems pretty straightforward. But is that all there is to it? If good is so obvious, why does the Bible say that we need discernment to recognize it? Good or God? isn’t another self-help message. This book will do more than ask you to change your behavior. It will empower you to engage with God on a level that will change every aspect of your life.

I have only read the first few chapters, and I'm literally in tears of joy by the overwhelming blessings of this knowledge. Is impossible not to admire God's love for us, If we are willing to have a relationship with him. I will start a bible study on this book immediately with my family, because is powerful beyond measure. Please I beg you, get this book. If you don't have the money to pay, pray, act, and get the $11 and buy this book. And really study it.

When I began reading Good or God? I expected to read another fluff Christian book on being good in today's world, the importance of social justice, finding happiness, the 'me' gospel, etc. Boy, was I ever wrong. This book is a hard-hitting scriptural examination of the state of the church today and, more importantly, a call to look into my own life for areas where I had come unhinged from the truth. Each chapter I found myself taking pause as God revealed another truth of His word. It took me a while to get through the book When I was finished I felt a deep burning as I responded to a deeper and closer relationship with God. The fruit of this book in my own life is undeniable. From a renewed purpose to a deeper intimacy with God, no area of my life has been untouched by this message. John Bevere is not a 'new' voice touting 'new' ideas or theology. He has joined with the voices of historical church leaders from Augustine to Matthew Henry to J.C. Ryle to C.S. Lewis sounding a clarion call to holiness. I view this message not as a NOW message, but as an enduring message to God's Church. May we be humble enough to respond.

"Overused" my highlight & bookmark options. A must read for the times we are living in. The deception is alive and well. Narrow is the path to life, wide is the road to hell - unfortunately it's littered with many Christians.....

About the author

John Bevere and his wife Lisa are the founders of Messenger International, an organization established to teach, reach, and rescue. A minister and best-selling author, John delivers messages of uncompromising truth with boldness and passion. His desire is to support the local church and resource leaders regardless of location, language, or financial position. To this end, his resources have been translated into over 90 languages, and millions of copies have been given away to pastors and leaders worldwide.

John is father to his four boys and daughter-in-law and g-daddy to Asher, Sophia, and Lizzy. He is (almost) a scratch golfer, and his favorite sports team is the Detroit Red Wings. When he’s home, you can find John playing cards with his family or trying to convince Lisa to take up golf.
