I've been a Trek fan since TOS was all there was but haven't read a Trek novel in years (mostly cause I'm not interested in book series or new crews or adventures beyond the canon) and this was exactly what I hoped for...a good old fashioned TOS story set in the canon timeline which understood the characters and Star Trek as a whole. I could not have been happier and will be checking out more of this author's TOS novels. I was thrilled with how true it was to the TOS universe, down to the minutia level.

Excellent job of bringing in character from the past.
