The Alcoholism Handbook is the culmination of my forty-five years of personal and professional experience dealing with the alcoholic, alcohol in the family, and alcohol in the workplace. I have specialized in counseling alcoholics for the past twenty-seven years, mentoring, counseling, and talking with alcoholics from every walk of life. I have dealt with men, women, and children as well as the professional person, working person, housewife, student, and homeless person, because alcoholism does not discriminate. I have studied the disease of alcoholism, including its treatment, recovery, and long-term maintenance. I present to you, the reader, the best knowledge I have attained over those years. I’m a graduate of Fresno State University, with a BA in psychology, and I have a forty-two-year career as a mid-level manager and executive analyst for a large governmental agency. I have twenty-seven years of specialized experience in counseling alcoholics. I reside in Central California (Madera), the gateway to Yosemite National Park near Fresno, with my wife. I have spoken at colleges, universities, and social and humanitarian agencies interested in this topic. I have traveled the country, speaking on the disease of alcoholism in many major US cities. The information here is based on my experience and in-depth medical and experimental research professionals have published. All information in this book has been obtained from the public domain and the author’s personal experience. The Alcoholism Handbook will save the life of an alcoholic and heal his or her family members.
