I was blown away by this book. I read a lot of urban fiction. Frankly, much of it has become formulaic -- entertaining but predictable. This book was a rare treat. Engaging from the first few pages. Unique world building. A flawed hero. Well moving plot. An incredibly solid read that had me squeezing in reading time over breakfast. As a displaced Angelino I enjoyed the twisted view of city landmarks. If this book were a movie, it would be a big budget action movie. Seriously, you should read it.

GREG VAN EEKHOUT is the author of one previous fantasy novel for adults, the mass-market original Norse Code. He is also the author of two middle-grade SF novels, Kid Vs. Squid and The Boy at the End of the World (a finalist for the Andre Norton Award). He lives in San Diego, California.
