Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Rundfunk und Unterhaltung, Note: 2,0 - gut, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Bereich Medienwissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, aufbauend auf den theoretischen Konzepten zur Diffusion von Innovationen den derzeitigen Stand der Markteinführung von Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) zu überprüfen. Dazu wird ein neues Erhebungsinstrument entwickelt, das in einer Pilotstudie erste Anwendung findet. Die dabei gewonnenen Daten geben Aufschluss über die bisherige Diffusion von DAB, allerdings in einem räumlich eng begrenzten Untersuchungsgebiet. Ferner identifizieren sie Einflussfaktoren auf diesen Diffusionsprozess. Basierend auf diesen Ergebnissen werden notwendige Änderungen der Markteinführungsstrategie sowie mögliche Szenarien einer Zukunft dieser Technologie entworfen. Abstract: This paper aims to examine the current rollout level of Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB), based on the theoretical concepts of the diffusion of innovations. Therefore a new measuring instrument is developed and used in a pilot study. Data gained in this survey show the previous diffusion of DAB, admittedly in very endemic area under investigation. Furthermore factors influencing this diffusion process are identified. Based on these results the author constructs necessary changes in the strategy of market introduction as well as possible scenarios of this technology’s future.
