I hate to make other book references in a review but, I read this book immediately following Mary Roach's 'Stiff'. Stiff is a hard pill to follow and The Whole Death Catalog was such a pleasant experience the whole way through! It's a treasure trove of facts and humor and rabbit holes to get lost in. This book extends far beyond it's pages. Recommended reading for teens and beyond!

About the author

Harold Schechter is a professor of American literature and culture at Queens College, the City University of New York. He is widely celebrated for both fiction and true-crime writing, including The Devil's Gentleman and The Serial Killer Files. He lives in Brooklyn and Mattituck, Long Island, with his wife, the poet Kimiko Hahn.
