About this eBook

With his surgery postponed, Harper can finally take on a War Dog case to help out Kat and Badger. Harper knows it is short-term, a fill-his-time thing. Considering his stage of life, that is perfect. Finding out he needs to find two dogs is a surprise, but he doesn’t expect to track one dog in order to keep another alive.

As Saffron works to keep Beauty alive, she knows how important it is to find Beauty’s bonded partner, Beast. The pair of dogs had come to Saffron for medical treatment. Beast had thereafter been released, supposedly taken to a huge training facility, while Beauty hadn’t been healthy enough to leave Saffron’s care. Finding Harper on Beast’s trail is both a relief and a distraction. Saffron can’t ignore the dynamic Harper, even as injured and as scarred as he is. Not to mention the work he’s doing is so close to her own.

As Harper gets closer to Beast’s location, it becomes obvious that someone wants to make sure the War Dog doesn’t reach his destination. But why? And how far would this person go to take down the dog?

Book nineteen in the K9 Files series, another great story in this series. This is Harper and Saffron's story that I was not putting down until I was finished. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains two damaged K9 dogs to be saved and romance. The story is well written with a great storyline, I found this to be a beautiful, caring story. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

3.5 stars I enjoy this series involving the rescue of war dogs. There is romance, a connection between the hero and heroine that sweetens things up. The romance part grows whilst both Harper and Saffron are apart. The two banter, she shows her concern for him, and people open up to him because he is himself. They connect and the connection grows for them both from the get go. Besides the romantic aspect there is suspense and mystery which we learn about as the plot progresses and that is solid. There may be writers freedom with some of the things Saffron as a vet did in order to assist Harper with his search for the injured war dog, Beauty, but I don't believe it should affect your thoughts on the actual story objective, that of reuniting Beauty with Beast and connecting Harper with Saffron. Saffron's sister Sandy plays a significant part in a number of chapters and has her own story to tell. Maybe it needs to be told at some point, but in this story she was just being a thorn in Saffron's life as she traveled the path to finding her happy ever after. An enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed reading Harper . Harper Snowden is a double amputee missing a hand and foot . He also has a terrible scar on his face . When is surgery is postponed he asked to work on the war dog program tasked to find and locate two war dogs that are injured and are a bonded pair . They were sent to a clinic in Mississippi the male stayed there to heal , the female went to a training center in Louisiana . Once there she some how escaped and is missing . Harper is use to the looks he gets when people see his scar but finds himself surprised that it doesn't seem to bother veterinarian Saffron . Upon arrival at her animal Clinic he finds the male dog referred to by Beast not in very good shape . Once Harper starts investigating the disappearance of Beauty and searching for here he finds himself in danger . As Harper and Saffron talk and spend time together their attraction ignites. They both work hard to get Beauty and Beast back together . This story is sensational and Suspensefu

About the author

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you’ll want to cuddle close. She’s long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her – and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that’s okay too. There is one guarantee with each book – it will be a great read – each and every time.
