Cath knows how it feels to lose a mother when you are young. When Evelyn gets blamed for killing her mother and causing her father health to degenerate, Cath feels Evelyn is being blamed just because of the way she dresses and that no one is trying to help her. When Cath is visited by a shadow that could have killed her if not for Treacle, the Greenstones look further into the situation only to find shadow people interfering in the lives of the Elderflowers. It take all three witches and their cats to save Evelyn and her father from meeting a similar fate as the mother.

I really enjoy this series and look forward to the next one. There is another mystery and more evil for the witches to fight. Love Cath and Tom is an awesome book boyfriend. I do wonder about Blake and if he and Cath will eventually get together. Bring on book 9!!!!!

I am so hooked on these stories. Good thing that I am retired. All the characters are great!!!
