4.5 of 5 Stars Jamie Shaw rocked Havoc. Veterinarian student, Hailey Harper, ends up falling for her egocentric cousin, Danica’s ex-boyfriend, Mike Madden. Now that Mike’s bad is making it big, Danica once again has her sight set on him. This contemporary Rockstar romance is suitable for new adult audiences. Jamie Shaw does a great job with her character development. They are complex and well-developed. I like Mike. My son is also a drummer, so I always have a little bias towards drummers. Mike has a big heart, is talented, and has a great personality. I love how he treats Hailey’s little brother, Luke. Hailey is a sweet heroine. I’m an animal lover, so her being a vet student is a big plus. She is a great girl who is down to earth. She is caring and smart. I love how she befriends the band and their girlfriends. Danica is a piece of work. Her actions cause some fascinating controversies in the story. She is a selfish individual who is used to getting what she wants. Some of the things that come out of her mouth just made me shake my head. She is the opposite of Hailey. It’s hard to believe they’re related. I enjoyed the plot. There were a lot of complexities involved in the various relationships that made the story interesting, especially, between Hailey’s family. I love the video game scenes. I adored the ending. This was the first book I read by Jamie Shaw. I really enjoyed her writing style. I am interested in going back and reading the earlier books in the Mayhem series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Mike has been my favorite since the first time we were introduced to him, and has only increased through the each story. Sooo of course he deserves the absolute best! I think Jamie did the best job pairing him the correct cousin. Hailey and Mike's story is my absolute favorite. Not just because the suspense of waiting for him to have his own book has be killing us all! but because OMG Mike!! He's so yummy, and who would've thought that sweet smile, and his heart of gold, could say the most deliciously dirty things <3 <3 Seriously Ms. Shaw, OMG, I had to go run cold water on my face a few times so I could keep reading. In my opinion this is the best book in the series, it held me captive, I just couldn't stop once I started for fear of missing something amazing on the next page. My husband must've thought I was losing my mind while laughed so hard I was snorting, and cried with the characters in their broken moments. This is why Havoc gets 5 stars, and my vote as my favorite book in the series. You become so attached that you feel their haplessness, their joy, and you're so emotionally invested. Thank goodness the ending was just perfect, leaving no open ends and feeling like it was just meant to be. Thank you Jamie for bringing these wonderful characters into our lives <3

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Jamie Shaw never ceases to amaze me with each book she puts out. Every release keeps getting better and better, and if you’ve read her books you’d know they are pretty damn epic. Jamie Shaw doesn’t write your typical rock star romances, she writes romantic and swoony and sexy and fun romances about this band as they go through the highs and lows of their careers while falling in love in the process. While stardom and the rock star lifestyle may get to some people, it doesn’t get to Mike Madden. He’s in the band for two simple reasons: he wants to play the drums and he gets to live his dream with his best friends. Mike is a romantic. He’s not one to fall into the clutches of the groupies. He wants to find the girl that will be there when the stardom has faded. And when Mike’s ex-girlfriend comes back, he might just be able to find it. But not with his ex-girlfriend because Danica is icky and mean and vile and a selfish, awful person (can you tell that I hate her? Literally all the rage toward this women who has no soul–it’s not harsh once you meet her, trust me). Hailey, Danica’s cousin, is the girl made for Mike. Bonding over their love of video games, because Hailey is a bad*ss gamer who puts other gamers to shame, and Mike is in awe of her skills. Bonding through gaming creates something strong between these two that soon phone calls are being exchanged, texts are being swapped, best friend status is being achieved. But when the line between best friend love and romantic love start to get blurred, will these two cuties be able to cross the line? If you’ve been a fan of the series since the release, or have just been waiting for a book that will melt your heart, make you go awe, but also leave you swooning at a dirty talking drummer, then Havoc is your book. Mike is the epitome of book boyfriends, the one that makes you fall harder and harder with each page you read. Hailey is a character that you will want in your life forever. She’s best friend material, so sweet and so caring and always willing to go above and beyond for the people she cares about. These two characters are ones that deserve happiness and the world and they deserve to experience both with one another. There is nothing like reading a book by one of your favorite authors, but there is no other feeling than being completely blown away by one of your favorite authors in some of her best work yet. Havoc is a story I will not swoon forget (I mean I’m still thinking about about and I read it back in January, proof enough for you?). And, although Shawn (hero from book 3) is still my favorite, Mike gave him a run for his money, coming super close to knocking him off my number one spot. GAH I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! He’s adorable and sweet and my LORD HIS MOUTH! SOMEONE GET ME FAN! Mike’s book is the perfect conclusion to one of my favorite series, to one of the best rock star series out there. (Here is me begging for more, do you hear this Jamie? I DON’T LIKE SAYING GOODBYE!!)
