A story about a girl working as a maid at the Savoy in the 1900's, who has the courage and stamina to persue her dreams and ambitions of becoming a star. There is some sadness in this book but the author reminds us that sadness is a part of all our lives. It is also a story of love and hope. I like the short chapters and that they are narrated by the main characters.Typical Hazel Gaynor. A great book.

Hazel Gaynor is an award-winning New York Times and USA Today bestselling author known for her deeply moving historical novels which explore the defining events of the 20th century.
