Heart Of A Bachelor is a fantastic contemporary romance with a bit of western flavor by Tessa Layne. Ms. Layne has provided a well-written book but the best part is the phenomenal characters. After a few days in Vegas Gunnar and Suzannah are going to be married but due to an avalanche of mishaps, the wedding doesn't happen. Suzannah arrives in town with her daughter to run the new medical clinic. Gunnar is shocked to learn the new doctor is Suzannah. Suzannah and Gunnar's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and action. I loved everything about this book and look forward to my next book by Tessa Layne. Heart Of A Bachelor is book 7 of the Cowboys of the Flint Hills Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Gunnar believes he is a confirmed bachelor and is not destined to find love like his brothers ever since he thought he found "the one" in Vegas years ago, they were going to get married but she never showed up. Now between running Hansen Stable and as board president of the new medical clinic he definitely doesn't have time for love. That is until the new doctor shows up and comes with a daughter!! Suzannah Winslow took a chance on a sweet talking, hunky cowboy who ended up leaving her high and dry along with being pregnant. After accepting the position in Prairie as the only doctor around for miles she runs into the one person she thought she would never see again...Gunnar and he doesn't know he has a daughter. Can these two find their way past what happened years ago and become a family they both have always wanted or will Suzannah hold strong that no man is worth risking her heart for??

I was pumped to see Gunnar get his story - and what a story! It just broke my heart. I loved the nicknames. I love Gunner and Lulah. I beamed, got misty, lots of emotions - it was written so well, like you could feel what they felt, I loved it. Besides the romance in the story we are still seeing the people we met in previous books, the people of the town, and the town itself still being affected by the Tornado from several books ago. If I had one complaint it would be that it was too short. There was a mention of Elaine, I would have liked to have read more about her and Travis, more of Jamey - just more in general - but that's just me being greedy
