4.25/5 stars. Dark mafia romance, second in series. Read in order, please. I inhaled this within 24 hours. We do peek into the lives of a few other O'Malley siblings here (multi POV) and occasionally their chapters drag on a bit. But I do like checking in on them and watching their growth. Check CW. I received a copy to review, opinions are my own.

The Wedding Pact is book #2 in Katee Robert’s thrilling O’Malley’s series. This second installment picks right up where The Marriage Contract left off so if you haven’t read the first book in the series I highly recommend you start with it first. When you live in the world where you father is a huge component in the Irish mafia you pretty much don’t get a say so in any aspect of your life. Carrigan O’Malley has been able to hide from her father’s scrutiny under the guise of devoting herself to the church but the gig is finally up. When her father demands she marry a man he deems appropriate Carrigan knows her life as she knows it is over. Carrigan isn’t ready to tie herself down to a man and the only man who has ever made her feel any kind of passion is the sworn enemy of the family. James Halloran hasn’t been able to get Carrigan out of his mind since the one night of passion they shared together. He knows he will never be able to get her to forgive him for abducting her but even that can’t keep him away. When James learns that her father is forcing her into marriage James is furious. There is no way he is going to let her marry another man, Carrigan is his! This series really does keep getting better. I loved these two when they were introduced in the first installment and am thrilled that they have their own book. These two have some serious highs and lows throughout. Luckily these two lovers are able to come together for the HEA they both seriously deserve. Looking forward to the next installment in this series. I received a digital eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

Although I am not a fan of organised crime romances, I had so loved the hero, Teague O’Malley in the first instalment of this series, that I took a chance on THE WEDDING PACT. I also must admit that had the cover not been that enticing, I might not have picked it up, sad I know, but there you go. And a good thing I was shallow for once! The Boston Irish mob is experiencing a truce, but it’s not precisely peace. And the mob is the mob, after all. Carrigan O’Malley and James Halloran realised their attraction to each other when Carrigan was kidnapped by the Hallorans – yes, and the whole thing makes perfect sense: Carrigan understands the workings of the underworld but still giving in to her attraction to James is folly. He is after all the new boss of the Halloran family. What I found most amazing about THE WEDDING PACT is that it’s not convoluted: everything makes perfect sense, it all feels very realistic. Katee Robert does not sugar coat the mob: it is what it is, and I think that’s one of the reasons why it works so well. Both Carrigan and James are very strong characters, totally believable, as is their romance. Ms. Robert succeeded in captivating my attention from the beginning until the very exciting and action-packed ending. Every character is THE WEDDING PACT is extremely well developed, so much so, that I hope that Ms. Robert will make The O’Malleys more than the promised trilogy. I even loved Dmitri Romanov, and I hope we haven’t seen the last of him. If you love Mafia romances, you will eat this up, if you usually don’t, give THE WEDDING PACT a try: I had liked The Marriage Contract, the first book, but I absolutely loved THE WEDDING PACT. A fabulous read! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
