About this ebook

She forgot something on the way to the courthouse …

Sophia Abella has a good life, even if she is a little stuck. Not quite single, not quite married, she keeps men at a safe distance. But when her Marine husband returns to town and takes the job of chief of police, it might finally be time to get that paperwork done once and for all. After all, most of her family thinks she’s divorced.

They’re not actually, in the fullest sense of the word … divorced.

Years ago, Riley Jacobs chose the Marine Corps over his wife and has regretted his decision every day since. But once a Marine always a Marine, and he’ll use every tactical advantage he has to get Sophia to realize that she’s the only one for him.

Interesting second chance romance story about two people reconnecting after six years. The main characters are married. Sophia is running her family restaurant and Riley is back as the new chief of police of Starlight Hills. As you can imagine, things begin happening once these two meet again. Not big on second chance romance, but this was cute one and love the HEA. There is soo much extra info in this book that I just didn't find necessary. It made quite a few chapters drag a bit. You're told everything about the main couple but also many details about everyone they know. I was disappointed how the female seemed weak, without a back bone. Everyone seems to feel sorry for her including herself. She can't even say the word divorce out loud. I just would have loved for her to be a strong woman.

A great continuation of this series! 4.5 ☆ This is another wonderful read in this series. My second favorite at this time. I couldn't wait for Sophia's story and it wasn't what I expected. Eight-ish years passed by from the book before this. So good to see how the family has grown. Riley stole my heart from the beginning. He was so patient with Sophia. At times I had tears in my eyes, at other times I wanted to throw my Kindle, then other times had me smiling ear to ear. Looking forward to more from this author.
