Having read the saga of Mo Dao Zu Shi first, I was at a loss reading this book. It doesn't feel like it's written by the same person, so stark is the contrast in the quality of writing... Also, I definitely did not enjoy the misogyny present in the book which seems to be a running theme in this author's work. If this was the 1st book I'd read by them, I would completely abandon this author but for the sake of what they did with MDZS I'll give the 2nd book a try. I would not recommend this book though.

Please I hope someone who can make a difference sees this, a friend of mine recommended this book series as she said it was so relatable and helped with dealing with depression and so I wanted to read it as well seeing as I'm going through that right now, but it's not available in my country😭and we only found this out after she sent me a gift card to but the book...so please make this book available in South Africa🙏also from what I heard so far this story sounds incredible and the art is exquisite.

This novel introduced me more to Chinese media and how there are lots and lots more of other great novels, both translated or not. The world building left me in awe, you can't help to get attached (positively or not) to the characters, the way MXTX is writing the flashback? wouldn't asked for a different approach. Although i feel there are still some minor plot holes, and something's you would rather be another thing, it doesn't ruin my experience from reading and finishing this book! I would like to also thank you Seven Seas and the translators for making this possible! y'all rock. Not sure exactly when will this book ever be available here, or if I'll have the physical book first, but alas. Can't wait for MXTX other stories in the future!
