Pucked Over (Pucked #3) by Helena Hunting Helena Hunting scores again with the third book in the Pucked Series, Pucked Over. This contemporary new adult hockey romance primarily takes place in Toronto (actually Guelph) and Chicago. NHL star Randy Ballistic and Lily LeBlanc met/hooked up in book two, Pucked Up. Both are best friends of the main characters from that story, Miller Butterson and Sunshine Waters respectively. After being in a seven-year relationship Lily decides to have casual sex with all too willing Randy. The question is, will it remain casual? I didn’t really like Lily at the start of the second book; I thought she was too hard on Miller and had ulterior motives. However, she admitted her lack of judgement and gave him a chance, which I respect. Ultimately, her character is not what I was expecting. I really like both Randy and Lily. Lily has had a tough life. She works hard and had to give up her dreams because of a lack of finances. Randy is tough on himself, thinking he is exactly like his father. I understand why he hid his injury, and I love how Lily handled the situation. I appreciate that Randy let Lily in and confided with her. The two are an interesting couple with great chemistry. Both characters grew in this story for the better. I love that the story is told from both Randy and Lily’s points of view. They are both pretty funny, and I loved their commentaries. A lot of amusing things happen in Pucked Over. I love the side stories going on with the previous characters, for example, the wedding planning of Alex and Violet from book one. Violet really has no filter; she crakes me up. Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

This series continues to get better and better with each book. What started out as a funny as all get out romcom with Pucked and then we got to really know Miller and Sunny in Pucked Off. Both were funny with hot as heck hockey too. Now we get to Randy and Lilt's story. While there are money loads of laughter in this book, this book for me is more romance than comedy and oh how good the story is that we finally get. YES!! Helena Hunting knows how to write that mystery into her stories. I have been wondering forever about Randy Balls and we get the answers and more!! Time to move on to book 4 in this series

I was first introduced to Helena Hunting through her Clipped Wings series. Those angst filled books had me feeling just like I did when I finished Jamie McGuire's Beautiful Disaster or S.C. Stephens' Thoughtless - stripped bare and vulnerable, breathless and aching, not just whole but filled up. Those books imprinted themselves on me, and that's just what Helena did. Then The Librarian Principle came around, and I learned what a fantastic, dirty sense of humor Helena has. That's when I fell head over heels in love. When Pucked was released, it was a no brainer for me that I had to read it. I'm addicted to her writing at this point, and I'm just thankful that I'm a part of her Facebook group so I can get a fix through her teasers as she's writing. Helena creates books that are like the best lovers I've ever had... laugh out loud till your sides hurt funny, sweet, a little bit dorky, sexy as hell and with a very dirty mouth. PUCKED Over is the third book in the series, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It's a story about Randy "Balls" Ballistic, and pro hockey player, and Lily LeBlanc, a skating instructor, having some fun. Until it's no longer just fun. It's also about stepping outside of your comfort zone, as well as seeing yourself through the eyes of others. I love when a book gives me the feels in all three of my erogenous zones: head, heart, and down south! I had actual swooning moments while reading this book, causing me to sigh in typical girl fashion. I also had moments where I laughed out loud and had to share a snippet of a scene with whoever was next to me, and moments where I bit my lip and had to make sure no one was around me. I only finished the book this morning, and I already want to read it again. Thank goodness I know that Balls is always up for another round!
