I spent a couple years learning Spanish in Bolivia and Ecuador. When I took a hymn put to music and memorized the spanish translation, I had a connection that tied an unfamiliar language to something familiar to me. Many times the words were not a direct translation, but the feelings and meanings of the spanish language were much clearer than a direct translation. It helped me understand some of the nuances of a language so difficult to teach in a class. I first learned 'Abide with Me!' I never knew of more written verses to the poem until I found this book. I have found an additional treasure to learn and memorize.
