About this ebook

This book came into being from the authors exasperation at the ignorance of many users of the Thoth tarot deck. They prefer to go by their intuition rather than study Crowleys companion book to the deck, The Book of Thoth. Its too dense they cry. Im not interested in these philosophies; I just want to read Tarot. The above sentence is the greatest insult to Aleister Crowley, the creator of the Thoth deck. For the decks purpose was to convey the higher mysteries to the diviner. Crowley intended for the deck never to be sold separately from the Book of Thoth. And so, heart full of elitist snobbery and sense of obligation to Crowley, the author of this book set out to spoon feed this dense material to the masses, without watering down its contents. In the spirit of Crowley who sought to enlighten the world, the author has added his own contribution to Crowleys legacy, out of duty. It was due to Crowleys belief in freedom of information, during an era of politics and secrecy, that the author was able to get his own hands on the gem of all spiritual writing, the Book of Thoth.

About the author

Henry is a Tarot reader living in London. He started his career in Tarot at the age of 20. A year into his life as a Tarot reader he became the Membership Secretary of the London Tarot Study Group. Not long after, he decided to write this book, both as an instructional book as well as a record of his own progress in his studies. This book shows a Tarot reader who was learning as he wrote as much as him writing down what he knew. It was his study of the Thoth tarot that lead him to take the leap of faith into becoming a ceremonial magician. For this deck of cards maps the Path of Initiation for us all.
