This was really two stories in one, a continuation of the previous books in the series that came before it. We get more Beau and Jane as they figure out how to live their lives together. We have Emily and Mateo as they switch from enemies to friends to lovers. We have more of the ever wonderful Paige, and I mean seriously, I want to read about this child all through her life and then again when she finds her HEA. We also have the trial going on, trying all these characters together.

This was a great addition to the Rochester series, serving as both a spin-off with Emily and Mateo's romance and a look at where Jane and Beau are now at after the end of the original trilogy. I loved being able to "touch base" with the original Rochester main characters, because let's be honest here, those two seriously left their mark. Everything ended as it should have, with that feeling of satisfaction and hope for everyone--well, at least those who mattered--involved. 4.5 stars!
