About this ebook

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • An up-close portrait of the mind of an addict and a life unraveled by narcotics—a memoir of captivating urgency and surprising humor that puts a human face on the opioid crisis.

“Raw, brutal, and shocking. Move over, Orange Is the New Black.”—Amy Dresner, author of My Fair Junkie

When word got out that Tiffany Jenkins was withdrawing from opiates on the floor of a jail cell, people in her town were shocked. Not because of the twenty felonies she’d committed, or the nature of her crimes, or even that she’d been captain of the high school cheerleading squad just a few years earlier, but because her boyfriend was a Deputy Sherriff, and his friends—their friends—were the ones who’d arrested her.

A raw and twisty page-turning memoir that reads like fiction, High Achiever spans Tiffany’s life as an active opioid addict, her 120 days in a Florida jail where every officer despised what she’d done to their brother in blue, and her eventual recovery. With heart-racing urgency and unflinching honesty, Jenkins takes you inside the grips of addiction and the desperate decisions it breeds. She is a born storyteller who lived an incredible story, from blackmail by an ex-boyfriend to a soul-shattering deal with a drug dealer, and her telling brims with suspense and unexpected wit. But the true surprise is her path to recovery. Tiffany breaks through the stigma and silence to offer hope and inspiration to anyone battling the disease—whether it’s a loved one or themselves.

Excellent read! If you or someone you love is an addict, or an addict in recovery, this book is by far the one to pick up and read. She tells her story from start to finish, the good and the bad, the pretty and the ugly, she doesn't miss a beat. I've been in recovery now for 16 years and this brought back all the same feels I had when I was beginning my journey to sobriety. She hits the nail on the head, it's riveting and suspenseful and will make you laugh, it's down to earth and relatable 100%. Pick up a copy today you won't be disappointed! Not in the least. I hope there is a follow up book or something.

I am ashamed to admit that I was one who thought that addicts chose to do drugs, that if they OD'd oh well. They did it to themselves. After reading Tiffany's book, I now get it. They may have chose to start doing drugs but then the drugs take over and they have no choice but to continue. I cried many times reading this book because I finally understood. I am so proud of her for overcoming her demons and speaking out to help others do the same. Her FB posts are so funny and informative. Tiffany, you rock!

I came across Tiffany on IG and started following her and you know...done the whole weird looking at every post thing, just to really see what she was about. I realized she was an author of a book about her life. I AM NOT a fan of reading , but I could not quit reading. I ended up reading this book in 2 days. Even though I am not an addict or even been in trouble with the law, there where times she took me in my past that I felt I could "relate" in my own way. This is an absolutely amazing read.
