About this eBook

Quincy Ryan was just handed custody of a son he didn’t know existed. He knows how to be an architect, not a dad, so he looks to his own father for guidance, but that means moving with Pops to Marietta, Montana. Quincy knows he has to get over his shock and give Atlas the Christmas he deserves, but how? He needs a miracle.

Nicki Darren, failed actress, will take any job as Christmas approaches, even babysitting for a withdrawn, workaholic, single father. She lost her mom as a child, too, and hasn’t had a real Christmas since, so she identifies with four-year-old Atlas.

An advent calendar of activities soon has Nicki pulling Quincy out of the house to get a tree and ice skate with his son. She wants Quincy to open his heart to Atlas, but begins to fall for the Ryan men herself. It makes the countdown to her last day, Christmas Eve, bittersweet. If only the miracle he is looking for included her…

His Christmas Miracle by Dani Collins is a wonderful story featuring a couple of misfits. Nicole Darren, a girl who dreamt of making it big in Hollywood only to end up working at a nursing home to make ends meet. She has decided to return home to Glacier Creek, Montana. On the way there she stops in Marietta, Montana applying for a temporary job as a nanny for Quincy Ryan. Quincy has just recently relocated to Marietta, from Pittsburgh, with his father, Murray, and 4-year old son, Atlas. Murray is originally from Marietta and purchased the home his family previously owned. Quincy did not know he was a father. He dated a woman for about four or five months, thought to marry her but she broke off the relationship. It turned out she became pregnant, whether on purpose or accidently and did not share the information with the baby’s father. When she was killed in a car accident, her parents locate Quincy to pass over custody of Atlas. Quincy had no idea how to be a father or how to take care of his son. That was why he hired Nicole to help with Atlas and assist with Murray. Nicole helped all three men adjust to the changes in their lives. When it was time to leave, she did not want to go. She wanted more. However, she was offered a part in a television series and needed to decide if it was what she really wanted. Quincy found that Nicole not only helped him understand how to be a father, but she had gotten under his skin as well as affecting Atlas and Murray. The men did not want her to leave either, but Quincy needed to figure out a way to let her know how they felt. The author did an excellent job writing this story. I enjoyed the fact that Ms. Collins interwove other Marietta residents into the story, mainly those from her previous books. For me, it was getting an update on old friends. This was a fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I really enjoyed reading this book because Dani Collins wrote a sweet, fun, small town, Christmas romance that I could not put down. I loved this story as it warmed my heart. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

4.5 stars — This book was exactly what I was looking for in a Christmas novel!! It had characters that I connected with and felt for, fun moments, sad moments, wintery moments…it was nice after having some bad luck. Nicki was pretty easy for me to relate to — I loved her spunky happy personality, how she sought out joy in the little things. I also related to her sense of failure, and it was nice to see her work through that in this book. I loved the way she connected and bantered with Pops, and she was exactly what Atlas and Quincy needed in their lives. I actually connected with parts of Quincy’s personality too, his natural reticence with people and scars from childhood. I loved that even though he was worried about being a good father, he didn’t shy away from the opportunities that Nicki gave him. I was a bit bummed with his reluctance to show affection — it was very stereotypically male, and it didn’t really fit with who Pops was…but alas. The chemistry between Nicki and Quincy was actually pretty great…I loved all these moments you got to see as they both felt a connection with one another, but resisted it. And even though it was a bit slow burn, I really felt their emotions when the climax finally came around. I honestly wasn’t sure how it was going to resolve, but I was happy with how it did. There were some great secondary characters in this one, from ones that played a large role to ones that played just a fleeting part. The town of Marietta is so richly developed, with so many characters and couples from other books (both by this author and from others) that it’s fun to see it from different perspectives. But the highlight for me was wholeheartedly the relationships that both Nicki and Quincy develop with Atlas. He’s a super cute kid, but I also really felt for his emotional upheaval, and having to get used to strangers becoming family. I loved the way the Christmas activities every day helped them all grow together, and it totally got me into the spirit along with them. So yeah…a solid Christmas book, and a romance I could root for.

Loved this story!! Shows the true magic of Christmas. Quincy became an instant father to a son that he didn't know he had, he looks to his father for guidance. He moves to Marietta to be with his dad, he hires Nicki, down on her luck actress to help with the care of his father and his son, Atlas. What Nicki does is brings magic into the holiday season and brings Quincy and Atlas closer together. As she brings this family closer together, her heart opens up to Quincy too. There is so much to love in this story, all of the Christmas activities. Loved the growing relationship between Quincy and Nicki, and Atlas is just so darn cute. I highly recommend you add this book to your holiday reading.
