HIT AND RUN by Amy Shojai is the fifth installment in the September Day and Shadow Thriller series. I really enjoy how the author weaves the animals into the heroes they can be. Get ready for sub-plots within subplots in this fast paced, action packed story. There are enough details that the reader will be paying close attention and enjoying each minute of each page. September and Shadow have grown quit a bit since "Lost and Found". Shadow is no longer a puppy and September has been learning to trust and love again. A phone call from her former mother-in-law starts a chain of events that will leave bodies piling up, secrets revealed and September not sure who she can trust to help her. Some will think the dog perspective is a bit annoying, but if you are an animal lover you recognize those type of thoughts from your own dog. Even the cats, to me, are realistic. If they choose, they can learn almost anything and they definitely have their own minds. Looking forward to reading more.

As with the previous books in the September Day series, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hit And Run. I read a lot of murder mysteries and thrillers, and am often able to predict whodunnit after a few chapters. Not so with this book - I was surprised several times throughout the book at the twists and turns. I also loved the pieces that tied in to September's past. I loved how the ending foreshadowed more to come, because I love this series and am left wanting more. I was provided an ARC.
