This novel is high on suspense and light on romance. White builds her world in an intricate manner that helped me picture the situations in more detail. I found the suspense intriguingly developed. I wasn’t trying to figure out the who, because that was blatantly obvious, but the how and what will happen next kept me on my toes. This was a very busy plot that sometimes seemed a little over the top to me. The characters in this novel were well developed and easy to get to know. I did find Sara’s obsession with her case both understandable and the most prominent part of her personality. Contrasted with the utter trust found in Will’s character and you have a couple that both intrigued and perplexed me. This was an enjoyable novel, both as a standalone and as a part of the series. The characters were real & believable while the plot was interesting throughout. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
