Crusie has created a cute, fun story that puts the chase for the perfect gift in a new light. She cranks up the craziness of the season a few notches while taking readers on a bit of a wild ride. Intrigue meets with humour in a way that had me laughing and gasping. Due to the brief length of the tale, character development is minimal so I really couldn’t connect with them. It doesn’t affect the story much if you’re looking for a quick, light, fluffy read. This was a fun, cute short story perfect for an afternoon beside the Christmas tree. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

This is a hilarious parity on the lengths we will go to get that "hot" toy of the season for our loved little ones. So funny you will find yourself laughing so hard you'll need a tissue or two. While I've never found myself in the middle of a spy game for that special toy, it did bring back some great memories of the frustrations of finding the it gift of the season. If your looking for a little levity and release from the rush of the season, this book will do it. I definitely recommend it.

I thought I remembered enjoying this years ago but now I think it was my least favorite. The main character behaves like a child the entire time. Its hard to believe a rational adult would put themself through all that for the sake of a child believing in Santa lol

About the author

Jennifer Crusie was researching her dissertation on the differences in the way men and women tell stories when she got sidetracked into writing romance novels.

Her first book was published in 1993 (which pretty much finished off any hope of her getting that PhD) and her twenty-second book, Maybe This Time, came out in August of 2010, all of which she considers a minor miracle, especially since she is also a New York Times, USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestselling author and a two-time Rita award winner
