About this eBook

The King family has moved into a strange old house. Could it be a dream come true—or a place of nightmares?

When the Kings move from LA to a secluded small town, fifteen-year-old Xander is beyond disappointed. He and his friends loved to create amateur films, but the tiny town of Pinedale is the last place a movie buff and future filmmaker wants to land.

But he, David, and Toria are captivated by the many rooms in the old Victorian fixer-upper they moved into—as well as the heavy woods surrounding the house.

They soon discover there’s something odd about their new home. Sounds come from the wrong directions. Prints of giant, bare feet appear in the dust. And when David tries to hide in the linen closet, he winds up in locker 119 at his new school.

Then the really weird stuff kicks in: they find a hidden hallway with portals leading to far-off places—in long-ago times. Xander is starting to wonder if this kind of travel is a teen’s dream come true . . . or his worst nightmare.

what that guy said ^ yo. I'm 14 and I loved this book it is just fantastic and full of excitment. now...one review said that it didn't have enough christian reference. It HAS a bigger christian meaning and you learn what that is in book 4. Not every christian book can be God based. I consider it christian because it's clean. But... no offence at all to guy/girl who wrote that review I just don't know why you'd give it the lowest rating because of that...bottom line IT'S AWESOME GET IT WORTH EVERY PENNY! :D again, as soon as the first book ends have the next one handy! ha.

Xander, David, and Toria have moved with their parents to a small hick town where their father is the principal of the junior/senior high school. They buy and move into an old Victorian House. The boys discover rooms that are portals to other time periods. On their third night in the house their mother is kidnapped from her bedroom and whisked through a portal into another time and place. The boys find out a secret their father has kept for many years and set out to find their mother through different portals.

This book was brilliant. The prologue was the most gripping introduction to a book I've ever read. After that, it takes a little bit to get going, but once it does it becomes a masterpiece, one that never lets up and leaves you begging for book two.
