About this ebook

In this new book, Ian Markham analyzes the atheistic world view, opposing the arguments given by renowned authors of books on atheism, such as Richard Dawkins. Unlike other responses to the new atheism, Markham challenges these authors on their own ground by questioning their understanding of belief and of atheism itself. The result is a transforming introduction to Christianity that will appeal to anyone interested in this debate.
  • A fascinating challenge to the recent spate of successful books written by high-profile atheist authors such as Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris
  • Tackles these authors on their own ground, arguing that they do not understand the nature of atheism, let alone theology and ethics
  • Draws on ideas from Nietzsche, cosmology, and art to construct a powerful response that allows for a faith that is grounded, yet one that recognizes the reality of uncertainty
  • Succinct, engaging, but robustly argued, this new book by a leading academic and writer contains a wealth of profound insights that show religious belief in a new light

I can't imagine anyone expecting readers to fork out such a large amount, especially if the writer truly believe they have a worthwhile read which could answer back to the strong non-theistic movement that makes religion look sillier by the day. It strikes me that the author knows they are on a sinking boat and so write a pile of tripe that give hope to those losing faith to make a quick buck. For shame.

OK, as a born again Christian myself I am all for books like this which reveal the complete stupidity of those within the halls of cult of atheism who want to think they are 'intellectual.' Having said that there is just no way I can find reason or justification for a price tag of 50 pounds. Not sure if that is an error, I hope it is as I would like to read the book but I refuse to pay that money for a single book. I did find the usual rantings from the angry, intolerant hate God squad amusing as ever.

Considering the content and the Author's interest in clearing up what must be a very personally contentious issue for him, the price is outrageous. What a dishonest attempt to separate the faithful from their money.
