About this eBook

Gabby Mulder was loving her winter in Aspen, Colorado, until a dangerous event with a ghost nearly killed her. Not that she was a believer but, given the circumstances, she had to be open to such a possibility. When one of her roommates is brutally murdered in their shared apartment, rumors circulate of a serial killer returning, which just adds to Gabby’s pain. Confused and grieving, Gabby is forced to move to a new residence, while the police investigate the death, the crime scene at the apartment, and her.

Detective Damon Fletcher considered Gabby a flighty troublemaker after an incident at the bookstore where she worked and then later on the slopes. But when one of her roommates is murdered, his interest in her grows to a whole new level.

When another of Gabby’s roommates is killed, Gabby is caught in the middle, as suspicious gazes turn her way. What had she gotten mixed up in? Even worse how are these deaths connected to several cold cases? The danger escalates as events, ghostly and otherwise, strike closer to both Gabby and all those who she holds dear.

This genre of book was so far out of my comfort zone you wouldn't believe but having read and enjoyed every other series of Dale Mayer's boos I decided to give it a go, I wasn't disappointed, it had me gripped from the first page. It is basically the story of 30 year old Gabby Mulder who was sharing an apartment in Aspen with four friends for the skiing season. Gabby was inexplicably drawn to Aspen and didn't want to leave Aspen or her job at the local bookshop. When Gabby has a near fatal and unexplained accident on the ski slopes and two of her friends were murdered in the most brutal way, Gabby's life was to change beyond belief. The murders were being investigated by detective Damon Fletcher but the clues were few and inexplicable, he didn't want to follow the road where they were leading but necessity made it impossible to ignore the facts, he desperately needed the help of psychic consultant Stefan Kronos.....Did all of this have it's roots in the past ? Whether you believe in ghosts and psychic phenomena or not this book will keep you gripped and in suspense until the end. I loved the gently blossoming romance between Gabby and Damon, a thoroughly enjoyable story, I will definitely be reading more books in this series I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is my favorite series and until now it still is, I just love it more and more. This book is set in Aspen, but the weather is not the only one that's cold, the murder cases it's chilling, and the supernatural power is creepy and scary yet still amazing. Thank goodness there's romance that warms up everything, I love the sparks between Damon and Gabby. Great story, great suspense, great characters, great romance, although there's a bit repetitions, this book is still awesome and I totally recommended it for paranormal suspense romance lovers.

Dale Mayer couldn't have chosen a better title for this book than the "Ice Maiden". Gabby really was drawn to Aspen and really felt at home in this new town where she really only intended to spend a winter. Little did she know what adventures would unfold making her realize just why the town called out to her. She and Damon, the "cutest cop to ever interrogate her", would be thrown into the unknown searching new and old cases to find answers. Stefan, who Damon labels as a consultant, is available to lend a hand as past and present all circle into one. From tarot cards to being pushed on a mountain, from history to present, this story has pretty fascinating happenings throughout. All in all, it's a unputdownable read! I will read this again. At the end we are given a peek at "Snap, Crackle...", the next in line in this series. I'm ready!

About the author

Dale Mayer is a USA Today bestselling author who writes for the young, the old and those in-between. Some of her books are hot, some are sweet. Some will keep you up at night with a light on to keep the boogie man away and some you’ll want to cuddle close. She’s long given up on trying to fit a specific genre. Instead she honors the stories that come to her – and some of them are crazy, break all the rules and cross multiple genres! And that’s okay too. There is one guarantee with each book – it will be a great read – each and every time.
