About this ebook

Consists of a typescript of a play in four acts, originally adapted from a novel written by Justin Huntly McCarthy. This is McCarthy's best known work. It is based on the life of the French poet François Villion who lived in the 15th century. This copy of the manuscript belonged to the American actor Edward Hugh Sothern, and was used by him in his last appearance on stage. The typescript has a few holograph corrections, and some lines are underlined in red. It is still in its original paper wrappers and they bear the imprint of J. E. Nash, Stenography and Typewriting, 1370 Broadway, in New York City. On the paper wrappers "Miss Dale" is written in pencil.
