About this ebook

A fake relationship, friends to lovers romance from USA Today Bestselling author J.H. Croix!

Have you ever gone on a fake date? With your brother’s best friend?

It all started when he rescued me from a dumpster. Not my best moment.

Grumpy, broody, too hot to handle Walker needs a date for a wedding. Let the complications begin.

***

It’s not even a real date. I’m not even supposed to notice smokin’ hot Jade. I don’t believe in love, and weddings give me hives. Jade is smart and feisty, and she claims she’s man-proof. She’s perfect.

Perfect until we’re stuck together for the weekend, and I can hardly keep my eyes, or my hands, off her. Perfect until I kiss her, and one kiss turns into so many more. And more.

She stole the covers, and then she stole my heart.

One wedding. One weekend. Two hearts. It’s all for show, right?

Keywords: Jade & Walker's story is perfect for readers who love small town romance, hotshot firefighters, alpha heroes, smart sassy heroines, fake relationships, slow burn, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of swoon, and a deeply protective broody hero.

*A full-length, standalone romance.

I absolutely enjoyed this new "Swoon" story! It is definitely a swoon worthy story! I love the characters too! You have Jade who is strong, feisty, caring and sensitive. Then there is Walker, quiet, strong, confident, protective and not overly arrogant or cocky. Jade and Walker are so perfect for each other in this fake to so much more story with a best friend's little sister twist. Walker is a firefighter who rescues Jade. She agrees to be his wedding date. Both have past relationship issues but seem to get over them in the end. This is a sweet story with some humor, drama and heat. This is a stand alone story with some connected characters.

Lovely Jade, Lucas’s younger sister, helped Walker out after he saved her from a drunk guy, a dumpster dive and found her bracelet all in the same evening. Attending his best friend’s wedding as his (fake) date so Walker’s ex would leave him alone, brought these two together as more than just acquaintances. Jade won’t date and Walker tries to figure out why. The truth is ugly and sad. The more these two run into each other, the more they want to finish what they started at the wedding. This one had some tear-jerker scenes that made me feel very grievous. The sexy scenes were good and the character development progressed nicely. The HEA was really good. I received an arc and voluntarily left an honest review.

Why doesn't she date? I have enjoyed all the books from this author, and this one is no exception. I love J.H. Croix writes with various issue for the characters and that most of those issues can be relatable. In this one Jade has trust issues and has sworn off dating. Walker has been burned by a girl and doesn't believe in or want love. Jade gets rescued by Walker when trying to kick a guy out of the bar for harassing a girl and from getting stuck in the dumpster; she insists she owes him. Walker asks Jade to be his fake date for a wedding so his ex won't bother him during the event. Jade is on board especially when she finds out why he has an ex. Walker is hoping that during the weekend of the wedding he can finally get over his attraction to Jade. Instead he finds her playing the part of girlfriend to be very convincing and after the weekend can't get her off his mind. That is just the beginning, so if you like girls with a feisty spirit and guys who are blunt you should like this one.
