So berichtet er vom polnischen Widerstandskämpfer Witold Pilecki, der freiwillig nach Auschwitz ging, um dort eine Widerstandsgruppe zu gründen, von dem Japaner Takeo Yoshikawa, der im Zweiten Weltkrieg den US-Stützpunkt Pearl Harbor ausspionierte, oder von Nancy Wake, die französische Anschläge gegen die Wehrmacht koordinierte. Doch es war nicht immer Idealismus, der Spioninnen und Spione motivierte – manchmal ging es auch um Geld, Machtgier oder große Gefühle.

Dietmar Peitsch war Leiter des Referates Grundsatzangelegenheiten beim Berliner Landesamt für Verfassungsschutz. Neben Fachpublikationen hat er einen Roman veröffentlicht. Zuletzt erschien von ihm im Elsengold Verlag »Spionage in Berlin«.
