4.5*'s Oh My Stars and Garters - that was a whole lot of something! My heart is still reeling over Neely Kate and her ordeal. This poor girl has been through so much. I am glad that Joe and Jed are a constant in her life, along with Rose, to help her heal. This book picks up straight from the first, and they are still dealing with Kate and some others that are trying to make Neely Kate's world a nightmare. So much happens and it is causing a real stink in Henryetta. With every good mystery series, some questions are answered, but so many more things are left to be discovered in the next instalment. Neely Kate has to learn how to trust again, her own instincts and men. Jed is being extremely understanding and supportive of Neely Kate being her own person. Joe is making lots of headway on this aspect too. Things I loved about this book was of course the interaction between NK and Jed - I loved his surprises. I also cherished the other characters coming into play, even Mason. I have not given up on him, I still feel he is the most stand up man with the best morals. It goes without saying that the story line is enthralling. I am not onboard with all the developments, but it is very compelling. I'm excited to see what is coming up next for this series and to hear more about The Rose Gardner Investigations.

Another great Neely Kate book. I love her as a character, beside Rose she is my favourite. This book she is dealing with her new found sister. Bringing up drama that Neely kate thought she had gotten rid of previously with Jed. Im loving how her relationship with Jed is taking off and how much he is there for her, all the special things he does for her. As well as her relationship with Joe her brother, it's like they were ment to be. The ending is another great one, makes me wonder what rose will think when she gets back and if nelly kate ends up telling her everything.

I always love reading one of Denise’s books, as I know I’ll be swept into the story and with this series I get to visit with my friends in Henryetta. This book is humorous, romantic (I’m still swooning for Jed) emotional and has a mystery with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Neely Kate is such a spit fire, yet she is full of self- doubt and struggling with her own self-worth. Her family and friends know she is so much stronger than she gives herself credit for. I was so happy to get more Joe in this book, I’ve missed him so much. He has grown and changed for the better throughout the past books and is trying so hard to get things right with Neely Kate. The ending does leave you hanging, but that just makes the anticipation for the next book so much better.
