After the death of her parents and after their mourning period, Octavia decides to report to the Viscount to become the governor of his niece. She picks things up openly and without hesitation. Leah has already driven away several governors, Leah is a wild bras and actually an insecure girl of 6 years old who does not want to share her Uncle Simon with other women. Octavia conquers the heart of Leah and Simon. A beautifully described novel. You imagine yourself in the beginning of the 19th century where this story takes place. Where the rail network is starting to develop and trains are still a novelty. Octavia is an educated woman, not as common as it is today. She is civilized, timid but certainly not somebody to be put away. She is not ashamed of her background and still thanks her parents for the opportunities she has been given, even after their death. At the age of 21, Simon was given custody of his niece and the title of Viscount through the death of his brother. He does his best for his niece but does not know if he is enough for her. He is not really looking for a wife until he accepts Octavia as a governor. Simon is a patient man and a true gentleman as he approaches and respects Octavia. The sisters of Octavia also go their own way. Cassandra and Honoria. Very curious about their stories! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
