The conference focused on important international trade and development issues under discussion in such international fora as the World Food Council, the Multilateral Trade Negotiations, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the International Wheat Council. Issues surrounding international food security, food needs of developing countries, and food aid and malnutrition are delineated and alternative solutions to problems are suggested. The conference was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Economic Research Service.
