About this ebook

Hubert slammed the front door of his home as he entered. Alarmed at the sudden impact Marcella glanced up from the book she was reading to look askance, at her husband. Reclined upon the sofa in a most redolent manner she had been rudely interrupted from an exciting para -graph of her book. Swift to read Hubert’s frame of mind she anxiously queried, “Did you have a bad day today, or did someone upset your apple cart? You realize you scared me half to death.” “No, it wasn’t really a bad day. I’m just angry at myself. No, I’m not angry at anyone else.” “Well, it’s a good thing it isn’t due to anything I’ve done. I would hate to be in your bad books. I’ve been there before as you should realize,” half in jest Marcella viewed her husband with compassion. “No, I’m only angry at myself. I thought, and perhaps my pride got in the way, that I was well versed in history; However, today my students stumped me with their questions. It happened in the second class this afternoon that Cynthia Harvard asked a leading question. She placed me in a quandary with her question of why the political scenario is so shaky these days.” Hubert took pride in his knowledge of mankind’s history and this was why he had been upset. His egotism had been challenged by a question for which he had no answer. This particular class was a challenge to teach for it was a clever class with a broad knowledge of current events.
