About this ebook

Premnarayan’s poetry is replete with a passionate inquisitiveness into the eternal mysteries and mystifying realities of this world, entangling man and nature. Richness and variety of thought and diction have lent a distinctive dimension to his creativity. The poems, seeking to gain access into the inmost essence of life, beneath its discernible expanse, emerge as paeans extolling man as the supreme song of nature. His unique unfurling of folk lore and mystique in his homage to his mother bears testimony to his singularity of style and approach.

About the author

Premnarayan Nath, a poet, a writer and a lyricist from Assam, lives in two worlds made of reality and imagination, of prose and poetry, of lightening the midnight hours, where the night helps him to create the complex warps and wefts of poetry and the day engulfs him with the real aura of human values as a banker. He is passionate about the written word, with freshness of depiction enriching the splendour of Assamese poetry, through ten volumes of verse during forty years of creating his own world within. The translated version of his latest anthology of Assamese poetry ‘Adrishya Drishyaman’, Invisible visible is imbued with verses depicting the interior landscape of a humanist where all that was invisible becomes visible with words. He narrates the demise of a mother in fifty two separate and distinct poems, which capture the moments of a beloved mother ‘like a painter’ with the grandeur of Assamese culture in a rare manner.
