About this eBook

In Orario, fearless adventurers band together in search of fame and fortune within the monstrous underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. But while riches and renown are incentive enough for most, Bell Cranel, would-be hero extraordinaire, has bigger plans. He wants to pick up girls. Is it wrong to face the perils of Dungeon alone, in a single-member guild blessed by a failed goddess? Maybe. Is it wrong to dream of playing hero to hapless maidens in Dungeon? Maybe not. After one misguided adventure, Bell quickly discovers that anything can happen in the labyrinth--even chance encounters with beautiful women. The only problem? He's the one who winds up the damsel in distress!

First five books are must reads! An unique world fun to explore! The dungeon is where the real action is at but outside dungeon action influences & add to the suspense of the inside dungeon action. A little footnote on series. Main story vols 1-5 and 9-14 are all must read. Obviously skippable vols are 6-8 and 15. While vol 16 is an incomplete storyline currently I have it ranked as skippable. After reading Main story vols 1-5, other must reads are Sword Oratoria vols 1-5. Sword Oratoria vol 6 is skippable too (unless you are really into Amazons or Tiona & Tione). Sword Oratoria vols 7-12 can be safely read after vol 14 of main story. More enjoyable is to intersperse them but I haven't found a good order myself. There is the chroniclogical release date order, of course!

The book is fine. I think the issue may be that I'm not the target audience (too old). The combat scenes aren't all that much fun. The leveling and self improvement concepts arent all thay explored. There is an immature bend to the way situations are handled and the way people are characterized. I would still encourage giving the anime a watch if you like rpg stories, but I can't recommend spending money on the book. Again though, I may jusy be way older than who this book is meant to be read by.

Some of the humor is lost in translation but the story remains intact. Being a busy short novel there isn't much time taken to describe people or places, leaving much of it up to the reader to fill in based on basic information. I found it to be overall a good read that gives a little more information about the stories world than the anime of the same name.
