This volume struck me as being somewhat of a departure in tone from the rest of the series up until now, but not in a bad way. While you can still expect the heartwarming moments of friendship and Bell's hilarious misadventures with the opposite sex that we've come to love, volume 7 seemed, to me, to signal a maturation of the series. I definitely didn't expect elements such as prostitution to be introduced to the work, but Fujino Omori-san manages to incorporate these new, unexpected themes into an epic adventure of self discovery and redemption that had me on the edge of my seat. Definitely the best volume in the series so far; can't wait to sink my teeth into volume 8!

Although it goes into a darker world... It was still great! The story / plot, was fantastic and how bell grows in this story is different from book 6 (war game training) and the training before fighting the minotaur. You are great at developing bell into a hero... I just wish we got a status update after each arc battle.

I love this series, my only complaint is that there isn't enough! The anime was beautifully animated but short and now it's been 2 years waiting for more. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of dungeons and dragons. Now they just need to make a DND rules book and my life will be complete.
