Als Metapher logisch-konstruktiver Tätigkeit spielt die Architektur von Anfang an eine zentrale Rolle in der Philosophie. Seit der Krise der modernen Architektur sind verstärkt Ansätze zu erkennen, die die architekturtheoretische Frage nach der kulturellen Funktion der Architektur unter philosophischen Gesichtspunkten kritisch erweitern. Bisher aber fehlt eine integrale Form architekturphilosophischer Reflexion, die der Rolle der Architektur gerecht wird als jene zentrale, kulturelle Praxis, mit der sich der Mensch eine ihm einzig angemessene, von der Natur verschiedene Umwelt erschafft. Die Beiträge des Bandes widmen sich dieser theoretischen wie philosophischen Reflexion der Architektur.
About the author
Jörg H. Gleiter (Dr.-Ing. habil.) ist Professor für Architekturtheorie an der Technischen Universität Berlin. Ludger Schwarte (Dr. phil. habil.) ist Professor für Philosophie an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind die Theorie der Bilder, politische Philosophie, Wissenschaftsgeschichte und Ästhetik.
