About this ebook

Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter 'H'.

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter eBooks never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new readers.

This book is amazing gwtting ready to read the series for the 3rd time. If you enjoyed this one pick up the other six all of them getting increasingly better. This story includes how he came to be and all of the ups and downs of his first year at Hogwarts with Hermione, Ron, Hagrid, and many other students and staff at the magical school of witchcraft and wizardry.

It's a very good series and I love the stories and all the characters! I love the fantasy and the adventures and the drama. The only downer of this series is until the 6 and 7th book, things are all kind of the same; there's a bad guy, Harry finds him and saves the magic world. It's just very predictable until the last few books, other than that I 💯% recommend!!!

Harry is a POTTER; I think his strength comes from his agony. The best part of this book is sometimes it is possible for a reader to assume what is coming in next paragraph, or chapter... Sometimes I have had laughed over the conversations. Ron was that kind of friend who can make you better in anything you're up to. I loved the fact that Hermoine was always that person whom you can hate and love after all because she's smart, she got energy, she cares about others.

About the author

J.K. ROWLING is the author of the enduringly popular Harry Potter books. After the idea for Harry Potter came to her on a delayed train journey in 1990, she plotted out and started writing the series of seven books and the first, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was published in the UK in 1997. The series took another ten years to complete, concluding in 2007 with the publication of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The Harry Potter books have now sold over 600 million copies in 85 languages, been listened to as audiobooks for over one billion hours and made into eight smash hit movies.

To accompany the series, J.K. Rowling wrote three short companion volumes: Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in aid of her international children's charity Lumos. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them went on to inspire a new series of films featuring Magizoologist Newt Scamander.

Harry's story as a grown-up was continued in a stage play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which J.K. Rowling wrote with playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany, and which is now playing in multiple locations around the world.

She is also the author of a bestselling crime fiction series under the pen name Robert Galbraith, and two stand-alone children's novels, The Ickabog and The Christmas Pig.

J.K. Rowling has received many awards and honours for her writing, including the OBE and Companion of Honour, and a Blue Peter Gold Badge.

She supports a wide number of humanitarian causes through Volant and is the founder of the international children's care reform charity, Lumos and Beira's Place, a women's sexual assault support centre.

J.K. Rowling lives in Scotland with her family.
