About this ebook

This is the chance he's been waiting for. But he had no idea they'd bring her.

Betrayed by one of their own, the defenders of Aeon Society turn to a Scholar and a Healer to join their mission and help track down the traitor.

Henry has worked for this opportunity for years. He’s studied Bastion and is an expert in local languages and culture. He’s worked his tail off in Alpha Corps drills, honing his skills alongside the warriors. All of his training had better pay off, because now he has to keep June safe in a world she can’t possibly be prepared for. And she’s fond of telling him not to bother.

June knows she’ll be called on for more than healing. Just the thought of using her other gift induces guilt. Can she resist the desire to drown others’ magic with her power?

And somehow, she can’t keep her eyes off the man she’s rejected since they were teens. Henry wears his armor like he’s used to the weight. The Alphas treat him like more than a Scholar. Since when did her friend grow into a warrior?

A new world may be just what she needs to see him differently.

Maybe this time she’ll finally give him a chance.

The two unassuming characters from book 1 have their own adventure as their strengths come out in the battle against evil. Recommend reading the series in order but it's not necessary.

Two new characters are introduced to the mission. Henry is a scholar of the Aeon Society who somehow seems very well respected and more like a warrior than a scholar. June has noticed how Henry wears armor as if he was used to its weight. June is a healer of the Society with another ability she doesn’t like to use on others. It is believed that both of them can be trusted and with their magic and may help track down a traitor. Henry has indeed been keeping up skills alongside the warriors, and he intends to use these skills to keep June safe, because he is convinced she is vulnerable out there. Will she see him differently, as a warrior, out in this new world? Will she finally accept him as worthy of a second glance? This exciting action-packed segment will hold the reader’s interest and maintain the suspense from beginning to end.

This is June and Henry's story. He has worked hard to become who he is today. June is a healer with other gifts. She is seeing him in a new light now that they are grown. Can something happen between them?. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
