'Hot, sexy, unique, intriguingly wicked'

A sinner's only hope is true love in this passionate new novel in J.R. Ward's No. 1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series.

Syn has kept his side hustle as a mercenary a secret from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. When he takes another hit job, he not only crosses the path of the vampire race's new enemy, but also that of a half-breed in danger of dying during her transition. Jo Early has no idea what her true nature is, and when a mysterious man appears out of the darkness, she is torn between their erotic connection and the sense that something is very wrong.

Fate anointed Butch O'Neal as the Dhestroyer, the fulfiller of the prophecy that foresees the end of the Omega. As the war with the Lessening Society comes to a head, Butch gets an unexpected ally in Syn. But can he trust the male - or is the warrior with the bad past a deadly complication?

With time running out, Jo gets swept up in the fighting and must join with Syn and the Brotherhood against true evil. In the end, will love true prevail . . . or was the prophecy wrong all along?

It really feels like J.R Ward has lost touch with the storyline of the BDB. The first few books were packed with suspense, loss, and intrigue. They were stunning and exciting and I couldn't get enough. I was the number one fan. But the war started to feel like an afterthought and the Bastards didn't feel like original characters. I couldn't wait for this book to end, and even then I was disappointed by the technically one-page ending of the war and the Omega. It was so bad that I didn't even care anymore whether the BDB won or not. Think I'm done with this now...

Loved Syn's story - mysterious, full emotional range hit for Syn as he grapples with his new emotions. Jo, the girl that seems to be crossing the paths of many from BDB. I loved the connection, the twists (and possible storylines that I really hope to see in future) and most of all a HEA. One of my fav books from this genre. I hope to see more from this series but also a complete new series for a different species. Highly recommend.

This one... this one has all the feels! I'm thinking that this one is now my fave BDB book! I love the little twists in it, and revelations. Now what I need in any new releases, is a bit more inclusion of Z, cause I miss that hard arse šŸ˜
