...Can destroy your life

'Wow, wow, wow, this book had me guessing all the way to the end!' ☆☆☆☆☆ Reader Review

When new mother, Laura Caldwell, opens the card dropped through her letterbox, she expected to see a heartfelt note, congratulating her on the birth of baby Shay.

Instead, she sees a message that makes her blood run cold. 'Your husband is a murderer.' It couldn’t be true, could it? Not Conor, her adoring husband. He couldn’t be behind the brutal killing of local barmaid, Vicky. Not him.

But while Laura fights to discover the truth about her husband, she’s also holding dark secrets of her own; secrets she’s spent years trying to hide. Could the card be a desperate attempt at revenge – or could her husband really be a murderer? There’s a tangled web between this perfect couple – and the truth might just destroy them...

Brand new mom, Laura Caldwell, opens the card that was dropped through her letterbox...expecting a congratulatory card on the birth of her child. What she gets is something far different. The card only has one message ... Your Husband Is A Killer. Shortly before she gave birth, a local barmaid was murdered. Is this what the note is hinting at? Her husband, Colin, and she have a terrific marriage and the baby has made it better. They're living in a small village, where she's been fully accepted ... or at least she thinks so. She just cant .. won't ... believe that her husband is a killer. Trying to find the truth is tough ... especially as she is hiding secrets herself ... and has been for years. There’s a tangled web between this perfect couple – and the truth might just destroy them... The intricate plot is swarming with a town with secrets ... a mother with secrets ... and possible her husband's secrets. Lots of twists and turns keep the reader turning the pages quite rapidly. Characters are solidly drawn. The ending is quite unexpected and surprising. Many thanks to the author / Hera Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this psychological thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

When I was first given the opportunity to read Five Little Words, I was unable to commit to it, which really bummed me out. Everything about this book appealed to me, so I was resigned to the fact that I would have to wait and read it at some point after my other reading commitments. But as fate would have it, the stars ended up aligning and here I am now writing this review on its publication day! Five Little Words is only the second book I have read from Jackie Walsh and she has delivered another thrilling read. This is an addictive one, so be prepared to be reading this well into the night! Jackie Walsh has produced a gripping page turner that kept me in the dark, never giving me any hint as to how the story was going to unfold. She does a great job of teasing the reader, toying with you along the way as she builds up the tension and suspense. The characters also have you second guessing each of them. All up Five Little words is a great read that keeps you entertained as you are taken along for the ride in solving the mystery. With its short and snappy chapters, which is a huge plus for me, it makes for a hard time in tearing yourself away, when each leaves you wanting more. It was a pleasure to read and review Five Little Words which I recommend.
