I LOVED this book. The crafting of the writing is amazing. It touches on religion, gender, family, friendship, mental health and loss. I don't think I could succinctly sum up the plot, but it doesn't really matter. The highlight of the book is the characters and they are beautifully written. The novel follows four girls with very different lives who are brought together by their circumstances, namely growing up in Brooklyn in a neighborhood shaped by white flight. Each girl has her own tragedies that are reveled to us through small, sometimes passing, details. It's a short, quick read that I'd definitely recommend.
