About the author
James C. Bradford is Associate Professor of History at Texas A & M University. He is the editor of nearly a dozen volumes, including the Atlas of American Military History (2003) and The International Encyclopedia of Military History (2006). He is also currently President of the North American Society for Oceanic History.
