Exiles is an excellent play by Joyce, and it can serve as a clear way to gain insight into his rather unique mind.
The play, however, may not be suitable in typical dramatic format, for it does feel as though he took a traditional novel and put it in lines; however, for reading purposes, this play is absolutely unparalleled for clearity into Joyce's writing style.
