Just re-read this. Besides being an edgy well-written novel typical of
Burke, his 1992 portrayal of a southern religious zealot's political rise
on a groundswell of support from ignorant, rascist and violent masses was
both predictive and terrifying in its unintended forecast of where we are
in 2018.
