About this ebook

Love, like everything in the universe, cannot be destroyed. But over time it can change.

The hot Texas nights were lonely for Ben before his heart began beating to the rhythm of two words; Tim Wyman. By all appearances, Tim had the perfect body and ideal life, but when a not-so-accidental collision brings them together, Ben discovers that the truth is rarely so simple. If winning Tim’s heart was an impossible quest, keeping it would prove even harder as family, society, and emotion threaten to tear them apart.

Something Like Summer is a love story spanning a decade and beyond as two boys discover what it means to be friends, lovers, and sometimes even enemies. The content of the "Movie Tie-in Edition" has been altered to match the film's PG-13 rating.

Praise from Queer Magazine Online: "Due to Jay's easy, understandable style, I was led through the happy times and the sad ones, sometimes by gently holding his hand and in others by gripping it tightly, but what a ride. 'Something Like Summer' not only has lots of passion, humor, angst, and twists and turns, it also takes an in depth look at how the choices we make in life affect not only ourselves, but everyone around us.

Five stars from ALPHA reader: "Jay Bell has written one of the most heart-felt and sincere M/M romances I have ever encountered. This is a love story that spans twelve years - a story all about getting a second chance with 'the one that got away'."

Tim is Bens first love and Tim makes a mistake and when he tries to put it right Ben is a moron and choices Jace instead of his true love Tim ❤ luckily fate steps in and eventually they MARRY but a decade was wasted when they could of been together and poor Jace has to die if he had met someone else he wouldn't of died and Ben and Tim wouldn't of lost a decade!

I really didn't enjoy the writing. The story started out promising but don't know what happened in the end, it started going downhill from a few chapters. It became so boring that I ended up dropped it. Never been good with words ey.

This series of books is one of my favorites. Story is between Ben and Tim and there high school secret love. Ben is out and comfortable with himself. Tim is the new hunky straight boy at school. Fate brought them together but Tim's choice to remain popular and keep the image of the hunky straight boy tears them apart. The book fast forwards to another point in Ben's life, where he meets his new love Jace. But Ben runs into Tim and something is still there. Ben has to make a choice between love lost in High School and his new love. Don't worry he makes the right choice, but fate steps in later and allows Ben to change his mind again. The main 3 books are the same tale told again from different prospective. Summer is from Ben, Winter is from Tim, Autumn is from Jace's point of view. Each book tells the same story but also fills in the gaps of time for that character, but each book also adds to the story making it even better. I strongly recommend this book and the entire series. There is many more books then just those 3, and each of those books connects to these characters and continues to add to the story making it larger and better. You might not always know how this new person links to the larger picture, but you will figure out it.

About the author

Jay Bell never gave much thought to Germany until he met a handsome foreign exchange student. At that moment, beer and pretzels became the most important thing in the world. After moving to Germany and getting married, Jay found himself desperate to communicate the feelings of love and alienation that surrounded this decision. He's been mashing laptop keyboards ever since.

Jay is a Lambda Literary Award winner and a fairly bad dancer. He also thinks that you're really cool. Seriously.
