About the author
Né à Bellac en 1882, Jean Giraudoux est reçu en 1903 au concours de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure, puis en 1910 au concours de « chancelleries ». Il deviendra chef du service de d’information et de presse du minisitère des Affaires étrangères. Dès 1909, il publie Provinciales, et mène de front carrière diplomatique et création littéraire. Son œuvre frappe par sa diversité : essais, romans, théâtre. La guerre de Troie n’aura pas lieu est créée en 1935. Jean Giraudoux meurt en 1944.
