Jean Lee Porter was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. She attended San Jose State University majoring in English and Drama. Sang with big bands in San Francisco during WWII. She also acted in television, film, and the theater in Hollywood. Porter raised three sons. Lives in Palm Desert, California.
