I don't enjoy reading cozy mystery because the characters and the plots can get really shallow and ridiculous. So, did I enjoy reading this book? Yes, surprisingly I did. The story was fine and the protagonist was good. Most cozy mysteries focus on women as protagonists, so to have a man as the main character was really cool. The fact that Zack managed not to make excessively poor decisions and didn't make misogynistic comments was enough for me to like him. The book is too fluffy for me and the long bad guy monologue at the end ruined the very good experience that I was having. I wish authors would find a better way to tell the readers all the details and motives of crimes than the cartoonish bad guy's monologues.

It took me a couple of chapters to get into the flow, but then story moves right along. Really enjoyed the book & will read more in the series. I highly recommend it to you.
