This is book one in The Small Town Heroes Romance Series and it is Sam and Tansy's story and omg it is a great start to a new series and definitely a must read. Tansy and Sam have history as they grew up in the same foster home after her parent's died and now she is staying in the lodge so that she can be off the grid to finish a important tech project as she is a scientist and she needs the quiet after what she had been through with her ex and it also gave her time to think about Sam and everything that she feels for him but he just sees her as sister so she never let's it show as his friendship is one of the most important things to her. Sam is a Special FBI agent and he has just got off a very difficult case that has affected him so much that he feels lost and the continuing nightmares didn't help either so he decided to take a leave of absence and take some time to see what he wants to do next and that is why he decides to go and spend some time with Tansy who always seems to be able to ground him and also she was so smart, caring and a bright light in the darkest of day's and he also had feelings for her but has never gone there as her brother's is not only his best friend but also family. The chemistry between Sam and Tansy was off the charts hot and intense but danger is just around the corner watching and waiting to strike but will he be able to keep Tansy safe and protect her so that they can have the happy ending that they both deserve. The characters and storyline pulled you in and kept you on the edge of your seat while turning the pages and it was so addictive that I couldn't put this book down and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Jemi Fraser is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention throughout and that is what makes you go back time and time again to read her book's and I definitely recommend you read this book and other's by her and you will not be disappointed. This is the story of Sam and Tansy. Tansy is a genius and a scientist. Sam was one of her and her brother Joe’s best friends, and both he and Joe are in the FBI. Tansy is holed up in Vermont on a large plot of land and Sam comes because he is feeling lost and burnt out at the FBI. Both Sam and Tansy have been attracted to one another and they finally face that but then an ex returns from Tansi’s past - someone who tried to steal her research and sell it. With it he brings danger. This was a good, solid read. I really liked that Tansy is descended from two Native American tribes and she is very much about preserving natural habitats and being environmentally friendly. She is self sufficient and independent and very very smart. Sam and she are really good friends and they understand each other and are each other's anchors. They recognise the others strengths and weaknesses. The writing was solid and the book smoved at a good pace and was enjoyable to read. The story was a bit predictable and not that suspenseful and while I felt the love, I didn’t feel the chemistry between Tansy and Sam. Overall, it was a good book and I will probably read others too. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The suspenseful storyline was well written and the interesting characters captured my attention from the very beginning and kept it until the very last page! As each page was turned Sam and Tansy pulled me deeper and deeper into their journey as it unfolded!
